Sarah Howitt is the Owner of Innovations Physio & Pilates. Sarah graduated from Griffith University with a Masters of Physiotherapy and Sydney University with an Exercise and Sports Science degree. She draws on both degrees to treat her patients effectively. She has also completed a Graduate Certificate of Pelvic Floor Physiotherapy and Graduate Certificate of Sports Physiotherapy. Sarah has extensive experience in working in Private Practice both in Australia and UK.
Sarah uses acupuncture to compliment her manual therapy and exercise prescription to ensure you get back to your normal activities as quickly as possible. Sarah also teaches Pilates at Innovations Physio & Pilates.
Sarah is our Pelvic Health/ Women’s Health Physio. She is able to assist women suffering incontinence issues, pelvic organ prolapse, chronic constipation, pelvic floor dysfunction, pelvic and sexual pain, pre and post natal issues, Male incontinence and pelvic pain issues. Sarah enjoys treating Pregnant and Postnatal Women and assisting them during this very special period of their life. Many pregnant women experience pelvic and back pain during pregnancy. Physio can do a lot to help relieve this pain. Rehabilitation during the postnatal period is essential and very specific. Sarah is able to help women rehabilitate themselves during this period and get them back to their pre-pregnancy activities.
Sarah also has a special interest in endurance sports and the injuries that occur with these unique athletes. Prevention of injuries is paramount with endurance athletes. Once identified they can be addressed thus reducing your risk of injury. She also has experience working with sports such as triathlon, rugby, AFL, cricket, netball, hockey, running, sailing, soccer and gymnastics.
Away from the clinic Sarah is a mum to two beautiful daughters Emma and Mia. She is also a very keen triathlete and runner. She has completed 5 Ironman triathlons, a marathon and numerous half marathons.
